Offering landscape design, arboriculture, and pruning consultation across Bainbridge Island, Kitsap, and the West Puget Sound.
Ashley Lloyd
Founder of Lloyd Landwright, brings both artistic vision and horticultural fluency to each project — informed by years of running a fine gardening practice and working directly with plants, soil, and site.
With a focus on trust and clarity, we guide each project from first sketch to final detail—so your landscape unfolds with quiet confidence.
Grounded Vision, Thoughtful Execution
Each landscape is designed to grow into itself — balancing structure with softness and inviting richness with age.
Landscapes That Deepen Over Time
We start with what the land offers—its light, rhythm, and quiet clues. From there, the response varies. Sometimes it asks for a full design. Other times, a conversation is enough.
What matters is that the result feels inevitable—not imposed.

I’m especially interested in guiding landscapes over time — shaping and editing what exists, and introducing new elements only where they truly serve the land.
Design doesn’t always mean starting over. I work with new and existing landscapes alike, often focusing on repair, refinement, and long-term stewardship rather than dramatic overhaul.
When appropriate, I collaborate with gardeners, climbing arborists, and land stewards to support ongoing care beyond the design phase.
I work independently of construction crews, staying involved through design and implementation to help ensure the work is carried through with care.

Before Design, We Begin With the Land
Begin With an Initial Consultation
The Initial Consultation is a paid, on-site visit where we walk the land, discuss your goals, and assess conditions together.
This visit provides professional insight and clarity before any design or planning work begins.
This consultation does not include drawings, plans, or design documents.
For some clients, this visit stands alone as arborist or landscape guidance. For others, it becomes the foundation for a larger design engagement.
Initial Consultation Fee: $250

Every project begins with a conversation. Whether you're exploring possibilities or seeking expert guidance, the Site Study is designed to assess your goals, the potential of the site, and how we might work together.
It’s also a moment to gain clarity — whether our journey continues or concludes here.

Arborist Consultations are standalone, site-based visits focused specifically on trees and woody plants.
These consultations are appropriate when you are seeking:
Professional assessment of tree or woody plant health, structure, or risk
Guidance on pruning, preservation, or long-term care
Help understanding existing trees in relation to your landscape or site conditions
In some cases, arborist consultations may include hands-on, selective pruning (including structural shrub pruning, rose pruning, or refinement of ornamental trees, when appropriate and discussed in advance.
This is not routine garden maintenance or general upkeep.
Can stand entirely alone

After the initial consultation, for those ready to transform their outdoor space, I offer comprehensive design services. From thoughtful site analysis to crafting immersive gardens and landscape lighting, I guide you through the process to create a space that reflects your vision and the land’s unique character.
I approach landscape design through careful editing and repair, building on what exists instead of erasing it. My work favors naturalistic, site-responsive gardens — places shaped by ecology, use, and time, with room for both human life and wildlife.

For some clients, the initial consultation provides enough clarity to move forward independently. For others, it becomes the beginning of an ongoing working relationship.
These return visits focus on guiding the landscape over time — assessing what’s working, refining what exists, and supporting informed decision-making as the site evolves.
This work is advisory in nature and may involve collaboration with gardeners, arborists, or contractors already engaged on the property.
Occasional, targeted pruning may be recommended or carried out where it meaningfully supports the landscape’s long-term structure or evolution.
